Starry Night ~ ASD Class

Today we enjoyed a process art lesson inspired by Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ painting. First, we looked at the beautiful image for inspiration. We discussed the different shades of blue and the swirling, whirling clouds and moon. Next, we set up our foil canvasses by covering 6 pieces of cardboard in tinfoil. Then, we squirted blue, white and yellow paint onto our foil canvasses and began painting! Some of us used our fingers and some of used paintbrushes. We all loved painting on the slippery, reflective surface, as well as the crunchy sound it made.

Active School Week 2018: Walking with a smile 2nd class.

Yesterday morning we  had a lovely walk in our local park.  We counted our strides  for a full lap and found out there were about 700 strides altogether.  Some clever minds then remembered that on average a young persons stride is about half a metre in length. They then calculated that it must be about 350 m per lap ! Smart minds and healthy bodies in 2nd class!

The Big Clean Up.

On Friday last 2nd class got to help  out with the giant cleanup operation on the school grounds. Together we took over a patch of ground and made sure that it was both litter and  weed free. We used litter pickers, shovels and brushes to complete our zone and we are really proud of our work.clean up1
