Everyone in Room 11 is looking and feeling fantastic today for the book character costume parade. We have Captain Underpants, Dennis the Menace, a Storm Trooper, a Very Hungry Caterpillar and a knight from King Arthur! What an exciting way to end our first term back at school!
Room 11 went totally tropical last week. In order to prepare for making pineapple pine cones on Friday, we took an in depth look at the interesting fruit. On Monday, we discussed the pineapple using pictures. We touched on how they grow, what they look like inside and more. On Tuesday, we held a pineapple and observed how spiky and heavy it felt. Some of us ate/licked/held some chunks after it was cut up. While we were eating it, Ciarán made an excellent suggestion about making pineapple juice! Subsequently, on Wednesday, we made pineapple juice and ALL of us drank our cup of juice! On Thursday, we drew and labelled a picture of a pineapple in our drawing copies. By Friday, we were more than ready to transform our pine cones into pineapples by painting them yellow and gluing strips of green paper on top.
What a fantastic week we have had here in St Clare’s! We have been busy this week taking part in different activities for European Week of Sport. To finish off the week today, 6th class took on the teachers in tug of war. The teachers definitely need to work on their strength as 6th class beat them 2-1. Congratulations 6th class!
Well done everyone for participating so well in a superb week of sport!
