St. Clare’s are delighted to announce that one of our 6th Class pupils won a prize for her essay submission for the Follow the Fleet competition. Entries were submitted from schools all over Ireland and we are very proud that one of our students essays was selected for a prize. Her story on the Life of a Conatiner was made into an animation. To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day children from 4th and 6th class linked up via Skype with Briarwood Academy School in North Carolina, U.S.A. We shared information about our cultures and how we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in our countries. The link up was even televised on on Briarwood Academy’s local news station! We ran skipping workshops in our school this week. All classes participated. We learned new skipping skills and improved those that we know already. We had a skipping display at the end of the day where various children showed off the new skills they had learnt to the whole school. It was great fun!
We enjoyed an Easter bonnet parade in our school the week before the Easter Holidays. Children made Easter Bonnets at home using recycled materials. Prizes were given to children who made the best use of recycled materials and to those bonnets that showed the most creativity. Well done to all that participated. Philip Treacy watch this space!
On Feburary the 26th we are making our Confirmation. We are very excited about it. We are preparing for the sacrament of confirmation and are making
a big confirmation poster.
The school will re-open tomorrow Tuesday the 12th of December. The minister has reversed his decision.
Snow in Irel and
Today in school it snowed in Dublin, it has been like this for many a days.

Everyone enjoyed it, the trees are covered in white snow and the sky is a lovely light blue, earlier when the sun was coming up it made the trees look amazing.
The weather is cold a frosty out and the tempature is around -4 or -3. Snow is falling alot this year and it seems to be getting much worse as it goes on.
We are enjoy the snow very much although some people hate it.
Today our school held the annual Christmas prayer service.It was the pupils in sixth class last Christmas prayer service in the school.There was some children doing readings and some children brought gifts and candle’s onto the stage also.There was a lot of parents that attended the ceremony.We would like to thank father Jerry,Ms Boylan,Ms Spring and all of the teachers that made it all possible.
Today we had a skipping challange.Alot of people came close but Claire Costello,she was a skip away from getting a brozen award.it was a great setup and we would like to thank Mr.McDaid for organising it.
