We are so lucky to have Lee James from Skip Hop back again. He is giving skipping workshops to all children from junior infants to sixth class.

The European Week of Sport aims to promote sport and physical activity across Europe. The week is for everyone, regardless of age, background or fitness level.
Irish SCHOOLS are asked to promote physical activity in whatever way that they can during European Week of Sport. The focus of the week should be on FUN and INCLUSIVE physical activity.

There may have been a storm brewing outside but Active School Week got off to a great start with our skipping challenge today! Lots of children received the Junior Skip Star, Super Skip Star and Bronze awards. Some even managed the Silver award!! The children will receive their certificates and badges in our prize giving ceremony on Friday. Well done everybody!

On Monday, Lee James came to our school to teach us some new skipping skills. Lee was so impressed at how much we had been practicing. We are looking forward to our skipping demonstration on Friday!

Here at St. Clare’s we learn to skip in junior infants up until sixth class. There are three different types of awards they are called Bronze , Sliver and Gold.There are 29 children who have the bronze award only 1 person who ever got the sliver award so it is a big achievement.
