We had such a fantastic day today dressing up as characters from our favourite books, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Harry Potter and Aliens Love Underpants! All of us enjoyed taking part in the parade and looking at the creative costumes in the hall.
What a busy and fantastic day! We had our annual book character parade. Well done to all the boys and girls who put a huge effort into dressing up as their favourite book character.
Be safe and have a wonderful mid term break everyone!
Throughout the last term 2nd class have been working together to write and illustrate a short story. Our finished product is called ‘Panda on the Loose’ and we are delighted to be publishing it today here on the St. Clare’s website.
Please click on the document below to read our story.
‘Marvin is a boy who is afraid of two things: heights and Giant Panda’s. When he gets stuck in a Helter Skelter slide with a fully grown Panda he thinks things are bad. Little does he know that the evil Mr and Mrs Sykes are way scarier and they are determined to catch the two miscreants. Join Marvin and Zi Zi on this great adventure.’
Some wonderful news filtered through this morning that a girl in our class is a national champ in handwriting! We are delighted for her and can’t wait to hear all about the prize giving in the GPO in a couple of weeks time.
We had lots of fun today baking cupcakes. Each of us had a special job to do. Michael read aloud the instructions. LorchĂĄn organised the baking equipment and ingredients throughout. Siluan carefully cracked the eggs and measured the flour using a weighing scales. SeĂĄn and Thomas mixed all of the ingredients together. Lastly, CiarĂĄn spooned the mixture into the individual cupcake cases. Together we put the cupcakes in the oven and eagerly monitored the time on the classroom countdown timer. Once cooled down, we ate one delicious cupcake each and brought another home. We were happy boys and are excited to bake again soon.
