The anticipation is building here in St Clare’s. Our Hurling and Camogie teams are preparing and our school community is buzzing!
Congratulations to our camogie team who won their semi-final yesterday. Such a fantastic display of skill, determination and teamwork among each player. Bring on Croke Park next week for the final!
Junior and senior sports awards in athletics, hurling, camogie and football were presented to students yesterday. Cormac Murphy was awarded Junior Sportsperson of the Year and Oscar Denvir was awarded Senior Sportsperson of the Year.
The two Dublin teams ready to represent and compete in the St Clare’s Camogie Blitz in Cavan today. Up Dublin!
On Thursday, the St. Clare’s Camogie team travelled to Dolphin’s Barn for the Kevin’s Camogie Blitz. St Clare’s had two teams competing in the blitz and both teams played remarkably well. Each and every girl was awarded a medal on the day. Two girls in particular were rewarded for their wonderful team-work and leadership skills. What a great day! Well done girls!
Last Friday the St.Clare’s Camogie Team took part in the annual St.Clare’s Camogie Blitz which was hosted by St. Francis of Assisi Primary School , Keady. Our girls had two teams and we played teams from the other four St.Clares Schools in Newry, Mayobridge, Keady and Cavan town. Unfortunately our team was beaten in a very close semifinal. Afterwards we were all treated to a wonderful lunch and a lovely treat for our journey home. The eventual winners were Cavan and Sr. Declan was on hand to present the winning Cavan team with their medals and the St. Clares Jubilee Cup. While we didn’t win one of our girls was particularly happy because her cousin was a member of the winning team.
