Art in Room 10

We have been busy creating some masterpieces in room 10. We have been concentrating on using line for effect; inspired by Georges Roualt and blending shades of colour in our paintings. We hope you enjoy looking at just some of our  lovely work!

Our Outdoor Classroom!

We liked looking at the mural 4th class made using the bottle tops we collected. We liked looking at where our compost goes and how it is broken down. We loved searching for frogs. We loved the flowers that were made with metal bottle tops that Lauren remembers collecting. Naoise liked the rhubarb because it reminded her of her Nana’s garden. Tadhg loved the seating area because it was made with wood. We can’t wait for our next visit to the Outdoor Classroom!

Healthy Eating and Food Waste!

We have been trying really hard in Junior Infants to reduce the amount of waste in our lunchboxes. We came up with some clever ways of avoiding tinfoil and cling film in our lunch boxes. Take a look at some examples!

Run a Mile in Junior Infants

We have been doing ‘Run a Mile’ this year in Junior Infants. We have been running on Friday mornings and have been doing a great job remembering to bring our boot bags. We have great fun and Ms Shaughnessy and Ms O’Leary said we are definitely getting fitter! Here are some pictures of us doing ‘Run a Mile’ and PE.

Freddie the Fish!

We carried out an experiment in Junior Infants to investigate what happens to the Marine Environment, when it is polluted by everyday rubbish entering the sea. We were amazed to see how dirty the water can get!We have decided that we are going to try our best to make sure our beaches and rivers are kept clean.

Merry Christmas from Junior Infants!

We had great fun singing in our ‘Christmas Concert’ last week. This week we have been busy preparing for Christmas, we had our ‘German Christmas Celebration’ on Monday and our ‘Christmas Prayer Service’ on Tuesday. The elves in St. Clare’s have been busy too, flying back to the North Pole each night telling Santa how good all of the boys and girls have been! We hope everyone has a lovely Christmas.
